How Do I Donate My Old Hearing Aids?

Children benefiting from Starkey Hearing Foundation Gifts

Have you ever wondered what to do with your old hearing aids? Many people seek out opportunities to donate used or out of warranty devices so that others may have the gift of better hearing. At Decibels Audiology and Hearing Aid Center, we love being able to offer a great way for people to donate their used hearing aids!

Recently, a few people from Decibels Audiology had the unique opportunity of attending a Starkey convention in Las Vegas. This convention centered on presenting the newest hearing device technology, along with informing attendees about the work being accomplished overseas through the Starkey Hearing Foundation.

In fact, you can donate used hearing aids to the Starkey Hearing Foundation at one of our office locations, conveniently located in North Naples or at our Beachfront location. The foundation accepts many device manufacturers (not just Starkey) and provides gift acknowledgement letters for tax purposes. So, if you have a hearing aid made by Phonak, Siemens, Sonic Innovations, Resound or any other major manufacturer – you can still donate them to the Foundation.

Starkey Hearing Foundation’s mission is to go all over the world addressing hearing related issues in underserved areas of poverty where basic medical needs are not met. As they address hearing related issues other medical needs are met as well. Last year, the Starkey Hearing Foundation fit approximately 165,000 pairs of donated aids. This organization was featured on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer. What an amazing story!
